The Preparation
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan.
Whisk together melted butter, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and vanilla powder.
Stir in buttermilk.
Add flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda and mix until just combined.
Pour into prepared pan.
Bake 20 to 30 minutes until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cool before topping with salted caramel mousse.
