The Preparation
Make simple syrup by boiling 4 cups water and 4 cups sugar for 5 minutes until slightly thickened. Let cool.
Add orange juice and lemon juice to the cooled simple syrup.
Add salt and stir to distribute.
Mash ripe bananas and add to the mixture.
Finely chop 6 maraschino cherries.
Slightly beat 1 egg white.
Pour mixture into ice cream maker and start it running.
Add chopped cherries and beaten egg white once the machine is going.
Churn in ice cream maker for approximately 25 minutes.
Transfer to freezer to set.
