The Preparation
Toast thick slices of bread.
For Avocado Toast: mash avocado with salt, pepper, and citrus juice; spread on toast; top with red pepper flakes.
For Blue Cheese Toast: caramelize onions over low heat 30 to 40 minutes with butter and a pinch of salt; top toast with caramelized onions, crispy bacon, and crumbled blue cheese.
For Mascarpone Fig Toast: spread mascarpone on toast; top with fig jam or fresh sliced figs; drizzle with honey.
