A smoky-sweet barbecue sauce sweetened with dates and deepened by smoked paprika.

Melt ghee in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
Add diced onion and saute until translucent.
Add soy sauce (or coconut aminos), chicken stock, apple cider vinegar, dates, tomato paste, smoked paprika, and ground mustard.
Season with salt and pepper.
Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer for 15 minutes until dates soften.
Transfer to a blender and blend until smooth.
Adjust thickness with more chicken stock if needed.
