The Preparation
Make dough with flour, yeast, warm water, sugar, salt, and butter
Knead until smooth
Let rise until doubled
Divide and roll into ropes, shape into pretzels
Bring water and baking soda to a boil
Dip each pretzel in boiling soda water briefly
Place on baking sheet, brush with egg wash
Sprinkle with coarse salt
Bake until deep golden brown
