Tender pork-and-beef meatballs baked and tossed in sweet, smoky BBQ sauce.
5 steps, about 40 minutes start to finish.
Combine ground meat, bread crumbs, diced onion, minced garlic, milk, parmesan, egg, oregano, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
Mix until just combined (do not overwork).
Form into meatballs.
Place on a baking sheet and bake at 375°F for approximately 25 minutes.
Toss with BBQ sauce before serving.
“Mix the meat just until everything comes together and no further, because overworking it packs the meatballs dense and tough. The soaked breadcrumbs and milk are there to keep them tender, so don't skip them, and wait until they are out of the oven to toss them in the BBQ sauce.”
