Hot Toddy

The Preparation

Fill a heatproof glass with boiling water to warm the glass. Dump most of the water out, leaving a small amount.

Add 2 ounces scotch (or bourbon/rum/amaro).

Add 3/4 ounce honey.

Add a slice of lemon, a cinnamon stick, and a star anise.

Top with hot water.

Stir with the cinnamon stick or a spoon to dissolve the honey.

Let it steep for a few minutes to allow the flavors to develop.
